At Pilotply, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Pilotply website and Chrome extension.
We do not sell your data to any third party — ever. Your profile, resumes, job history, and usage data are yours alone and are never shared with recruiters, advertising networks, or data brokers.
When you create an account you provide your name, email address, and password. When you build a profile you may provide your work history, education, skills, current title, location, and salary expectations. This data is stored on our servers and used to power autofill and AI scoring.
Resume PDFs you upload are stored on our servers. When you score a job or autofill an application, the text content of your selected resume is sent to our AI service to generate a match score or form answers.
When you use the Chrome extension on LinkedIn or an external job site, the extension reads the job title, company name, and job description from the page. This data is sent to our servers solely to generate your resume fit score. We do not store job descriptions beyond what is needed to return your score.
When you use Auto-fill, the extension reads visible form field labels on the job application page and sends them to our servers to generate appropriate answers from your profile. The extension writes answers into the form fields on your behalf. We do not log or store the content of application forms you fill.
The Chrome extension stores the following in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), on your device only: your API key, your selected resume, your job score history, your applied job log, and your profile data cached for offline autofill. This data never leaves your device except when explicitly sent to our API as described above.
We collect anonymised usage counts (jobs scored, applications filled) and crash reports from the extension. Crash reports contain the error message, file name, and line number from our own extension code — they do not contain page content or personal data.

Pilotply uses third-party AI providers to process scoring and autofill requests. These providers receive only the minimum data required (resume text, job description, form field labels) under data processing agreements that prohibit them from using your data for their own purposes.
We use Vercel for web hosting and Google Analytics for anonymised page-view statistics. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google Analytics.
Your account data and resumes are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting [email protected]. Local browser data can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Your API key is stored only in your browser's local storage and is never logged on our servers. We implement industry-standard access controls on our backend. No internet transmission is entirely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you via the platform or by email. Continued use of Pilotply after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
